The 5 Best Pumpkin Cocktails

 

The chill in the air has us excited about our favorite fall cocktails – especially those topped with whipped cream, a dash of nutmeg and garnished with a cinnamon stick! In celebration of National Pumpkin Day, we’ve rounded out our favorite Pumpkin Cocktails to try with Barsys.

 

Pumpkin Spice White Russian Cocktail

Ingredients for the drink:

  • 3 ounces 2 shot glasses good quality vodka
  • 3 ounces 2 shot glasses pumpkin spice creamer
  • 1.5 ounces 1 shot glass Kahlua
  • Whipped Cream and pumpkin pie spice for garnish

Ingredients for the rim:

  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or sparkling sugar
  • 3 tablespoons crushed graham crackers

Adapted Instructions for Using with Barsys Machine:

  • Mix the ingredients for the rim together on a shallow plate. Dip the edge of two glasses in water and then dip into the graham mixture. Press to coat. Set the two glasses aside.
  • Set-up Barsys machine with vodka, creamer, and kahlua. Fill shaker with ice and place on Barsys Disk. Let Barsys do its magic of shaking and pouring ingredients into shaker.
  • Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice.


Pumpkin Pie Martini

Ingredients for the drink:

  • 2 ounces Pumpkin Spice Vodka
  • 1 ounces Dark Rum
  • ½ ounces Half and Half
  • 2 tbsp Pumpkin Puree (canned or homemade)
  • 1 ounces Maple Syrup
  • ¼ tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Ice Cubes

Ingredients for the rim:

  • Maple Syrup
  • 1 Graham Cracker
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbs Granulated Sugar
Garnish:
  • Nutmeg
  • Cinnamon Stick


For the Garnish: Crush graham cracker in a Ziploc bag, or food processor, or food processor until it resembles sand. Stir in the cinnamon and sugar. Line the rim of a martini glass with maple syrup (use a thick napkin to apply syrup). Dip/roll in the cracker mix. Set aside.


For the Martini (adapted for Barsys Coaster): Place Barsys Mixer on Coaster, follow instructions in Barsys App to add ingredients. Allow mixing cup to do its magic. Strain and pour cocktail into the prepared martini glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick and nutmeg. Enjoy!


Pumpkin Old Fashion

Ingredients for cocktail:

  • 1.5 oz Bulleit Bourbon
  • .3 oz Grand Marnier
  • .5 oz Housemade Pumpkin Spice Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Let Barsys mix the ingredients. Prepare in a rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with half piece of candied ginger on a skewer and orange zest

Pumpkin Spice Syrup Recipe

Ingredients (yields for 30 cocktails; can be stored in refrigerator):

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (or 1 tsp cinnamon, or a combination thereof)
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup canned pumpkin

Combine water and both sugars in a pot and bring to a boil. Stir until sugar dissolves, then reduce heat to low. Add cinnamon sticks, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and pumpkin, and whisk vigorously to combine. Let simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring every few minutes. Do not let it come to a boil. Turn off the heat and let cool for 10-20 minutes on the stove. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and store in the refrigerator, or use right away.


Smashing Pumpkin

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Spiced Rum
  • ½ oz Allspice Liquor
  • 3 oz Lemon-pumpkin soda
  • Garnish Bay Leaf

Adapted for Barsys Coaster: Place Collins glass with ice on Coaster. Add rum, liquer and top with lemon-pumpkin soda. Garnish with a bay leaf.

* Instructions for making Lemon-pumpkin soda: Add 12 oz pumpkin puree (use canned or roast seeded pumpkin at 350° for 45 minutes and puree in a food processor), 4 oz fresh lemon juice and 2 oz water into a soda siphon and charge with 1 CO2 cartridge.

Spiced Pumpkin Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 2 parts Pinnacle Pumpkin Pie Vodka
  • 1 part Irish cream liqueur
  • 1/2 part half & half

Garnish with whipped cream

Rim glass with 1:1 ratio of nutmeg and granulated sugar.

Instructions adapted for Barsys Coaster:

  1. Rim glass with nutmeg & sugar mixture.
  2. Place mixer with ice onto Barsys Coaster. Add ingredients as instructed. Strain into rimmed glass. Top with whipped cream topping. Sprinkle with extra nutmeg & sugar mixture.
