All around the world, communities celebrate the “first harvest” by different names and traditions and our African-American community here embraces it as Kwanzaa with seven principles of unity, faith, creativity and purpose just to name a few. To celebrate these rituals we have made a list of fun cocktails for you to stir up this Kwanzaa!

Ingredients:

1. Tequila 45ml 1 1/2 oz
2. Aperol 15ml 1/2 oz
3. Grapefruit juice 30ml 1 oz
4. Peychaud bitter 1dash
5. Ginger beer 120ml 4 oz

 Glass: Wine

Garnish: Grapefruit slice

Nu Era

Ingredients:

1. Gin 45ml 1 1/2 oz
2. Campari 10ml 1/4 oz
3. Orange liqueur 15ml 1/2 oz
4. Orange juice 45ml 1 1/2 oz
5. Lime juice 15ml 1/2 oz
6. Orgeat syrup 15ml 1/2 oz

Glass: Old fashioned
Garnish: Orange slice and mint sprig

The Unity Cup

Ingredients:

1. White Rum 45ml 1 1/2 oz
2. Coconut liqueur 15ml 1/2 oz
3. Cold brew coffee liqueur 15ml 1/2 oz
4. Pineapple juice 45ml 1 1/2 oz
5. Lime juice 15ml 1/2 oz

Glass: Highball or Collins
Garnish: Pineapple wedge

African Sunset

Ingredients:

1. Vodka 45ml 1 1/2 oz
2. Amaretto 15ml 1/2 oz
3. Peach liqueur 20ml 3/4 oz
4. Blood Orange juice 60ml 2 oz
5. Lime juice 15ml 1/2 oz
6. Tonic water top up
