Agave Sazerac

The Agave Sazerac is a twist on the classic Sazerac made with Patrón Anejo Tequila and Simple Syrup. The cocktail has a smooth, slightly sweet taste with hints of citrus and spice. The tequila provides a nice, sharp contrast to the sweetness of the simple syrup and the absinthe gives the drink a pleasant anise flavor. The classic Sazerac cocktail originated in New Orleans in the early 1800s. The original cocktail was made with rye whiskey, bitters, absinthe, and sugar. In the 1930s, the Sazerac Company created a new version of the cocktail using tequila instead of rye whiskey.
